ADAS_Functional_Development_Application

ADAS function development projects. Development focused on Active Safety, Driving and Parking functions (e.g. ACC, OPS, TV, AEB, VZE, aLDW, AWV…). According with the project needs and deadlines, are requested independent planning and execution of the requested activities such as requirement definition, requirement agreement with partner functions and departments, definition and steering of change requests, functional application and validation, error management, test planning, test case definition, application of the software and dataset, test vehicle preparation, test execution, time planning definition, coordination of testing activities incl. Self-certification and/or homologation activities, function validation and reporting.

Expected activities and deliverables can be resumed as follows:

  • Deliverables according to the project phase and needs
  • Agreements with all included parties
  • Function release
  • Function application and testing reports
  • Updated, running vehicles with Verbund-Release Software and Hardware

General requirements:

  • University degree in computer science, electrical engineering, information technology or a comparable course of study
  • Independent und proactive way of working. Solution-oriented mentality. Curiosity and a strong willingness to learn are a must
  • Ability to interface and effectively communicate with the customer is needed
  • Ability to steer and manage the supplier is needed
  • Experience in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and in Vehicle E/E Architecture is needed
  • Ability to understand functional architectures, technical specification sheets and familiarity to OEM function development processes
  • Several years of professional experience in relevant domains (OEM, Tier1/2, Engineering specialist), focus on series function development
  • Knowledge of necessary testing equipment is mandatory
  • Experience on application of the functions is expected
  • Availability for in the workshops, on-track and road-testing activities is required
  • Agile working experience is a plus
  • Fluent knowledge of German (B2) and English (B2) language is MANDATORY.


Specifications and Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in Requirements Management using DOORS / AVW / Codebeamer
  • Experience in signal-architecture tools (PREE-Vision / SBT) is nice to have
  • Knowledge in the common Bus interfaces (e.g. CAN, FlexRay, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, ADTF etc.) is needed
  • Handling of Vector tools, diagnostic tools (VAS tester, ODIS and/or IDEX), SW-flashing, signal-traces creation are expected
  • Knowledge regarding Jira, Confluence, cPlace (time planning tool) and KPM (problem tracking tool) is highly appreciated
  • Knowledge of AUDI and/or VW processes is highly appreciated
  • Function development with Model-based Systems Engineering Framework (e.g. via tool CAMEO) is a plus
  • Experience in development process and implementation along ISO26262 and ISO21448 in ADAS is a plus
  • Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as C, C++ or Python is a plus
  • Driver license (passenger cars) is needed
  • VW-Group Prototype driver license is necessary. If not present, it is expected as soon as possible after the start of the activity.
