Specialist EDGE Devices

To drive this process forward, we are looking for you as a Specialist EDGE Group Technology Owner Edge technology. You will shape the automation / digitalisation of our production by adapting, implementing and supporting edge devices as an interface between the OT world and the IIoT world. The main task is to administer and operate the current Edge technology and to continuously develop our IoT infrastructure.

The Role

• Central contact person and administrator for all EDGE devices within the company
• Installation, configuration and maintenance as well as spare parts management from ordering to installation
• Configuration of the current alarm and operational monitoring interfaces to controllers (DCS, S7, ...) using OPC-UA/DA, Modbus, REST, MQTT/ Kafka Brokers, as well as their ongoing further development
• Installation and configuration of applications in Docker containers
• Supporting the network integration of edge devices into the respective local OT network infrastructure
• Maintenance of the task backlog and documentation
• Contact person for PoCs in the edge device environment and collaboration on projects

Your profile

• Completed training with relevant further training or a degree in the field of electrical engineering or computer science
• (Several years) experience with internet-enabled components, industrial PCs, embedded PCs, LTE routers, etc.
• In-depth understanding of the integration of components in network architectures and their protocols
• Good experience in system design for the interaction of sensor technology, evaluation, algorithms, processing and visualisation
• Up-to-date knowledge of operating systems, experience with Docker containers, preferably also basic knowledge of programming and experienced use of all common IT tools such as MS 365, Jira
• Team player with a strong hands-on mentality and willingness to work on site (POC, rollout)
• Good to very good proficiency in German and English
