Principal Investigator

A clinical research site in the Mannheim region is seeking an experienced Principal Investigator to lead and oversee diabetes and endocrinology clinical studies. This position is ideal for a physician with a strong background in conducting Phase II to IV trials and hands-on experience with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes populations. • Act as Principal Investigator for diabetes and endocrine clinical trials, ensuring full compliance with GCP • Provide medical oversight and safety assessment for all study participants • Supervise study teams including Sub Investigators, Study Nurses and Coordinators • Review and sign off eligibility assessments, adverse events, patient histories and study documentation • Participate in monitoring visits, audits and sponsor or CRO meetings • Collaborate closely with site leadership to optimise recruitment, retention and overall data quality • Support protocol review, feasibility work and site readiness activities for upcoming metabolic or endocrine studiesEssential Requirements: • German Approbation and eligibility to practice independently in Germany • Previous Principal Investigator experience in 5 to 10 clinical trials (minimum requirement) • Strong diabetes or metabolic disease experience, ideally including both early and late phase studies • Detailed understanding of GCP, clinical trial conduct and safety reporting requirements • Proven ability to lead multi disciplinary study teams and communicate with sponsors and CROs
