Our client is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer to support an ongoing development project involving specialised industrial machinery. This role offers full-cycle design responsibility—from initial concept and requirements definition through to prototyping, testing, and production documentation. It’s ideal for an engineer with strong CAD capabilities and a solid background in designing complex mechanical systems.Role: Mechanical Design EngineerDuration: 8–12 monthsIndustry: Specialised Machinery / Equipment ManufacturingRate: Competitive hourly rate in € (negotiable)Location: Hybrid (onsite near Hamburg+ remote flexibility)Key ResponsibilitiesDefine mechanical design specifications aligned with project goals and performance criteriaDevelop functional and manufacturable designs for machinery components and assembliesLead prototyping efforts, conduct testing, and iterate based on performance feedbackCreate detailed 3D CAD models and production-ready drawings in compliance with industry standardsContinuously improve existing machinery designs by integrating cost-effective componentsCollaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure design feasibility and qualityRequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldMinimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, ideally within specialised machinery, automation, or industrial equipmentProficiency in one or more CAD platforms: SolidWorks, Inventor, Siemens NX, CATIA, or CreoIdeally fluent in German and EnglishFor more details please call Christin Rabone on +49 89541 98860 or email me with an updated CV.
