Freelance OBIEE 11 Consultant and Power BI Migration Specialist

About:
I am representing a dynamic organization in need of an experienced freelancer to support and maintain their Business Intelligence (BI) system based on Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 11. As they plan to transition to Power BI in the fourth quarter of 2024, they are seeking a competent and knowledgeable colleague to assist with the conception and data migration.
Responsibilities:
OBIEE 11 Administration:
- Perform regular maintenance and administration tasks on the OBIEE 11 system.
- Ensure the system is up-to-date, secure, and performing optimally.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Manage and configure OBIEE security, including user roles and permissions.
Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support to end-users for OBIEE 11-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve problems with reports, dashboards, and data sources.
- Document and communicate solutions to prevent recurrence of issues.
Power BI Migration Preparation:
- Collaborate with the team to plan the transition from OBIEE 11 to Power BI.
- Assist in designing the data migration strategy, including data mapping and transformation.
- Support the development of data models and Power BI dashboards during the migration phase.
Conception and Design:
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Participate in the design and implementation of BI solutions that meet the needs of the business.
- Ensure the new Power BI system aligns with best practices and industry standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in administering and supporting OBIEE 11.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a deep understanding of BI systems.
- Experience with data migration projects, preferably to Power BI.
- Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with Power BI and its administration.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of Oracle databases and their integration with BI tools.
- Certification in OBIEE or Power BI would be an advantage.
