- 8 years of experiencewith data structures or algorithms.
- 5 years ofexperience with software development in one or more programminglanguages.
- 3 years of experience with peoplemanagement, designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributedsystems.
- Experience working incomputing, distributed systems, storage, ornetworking.
- Experience designing,analyzing, and troubleshooting distributedsystems.
- Ability to debug, optimize code, andto automate routine tasks.
- Excellentproblem-solving, verbal, and written communicationskills.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combinessoftware and systems engineering to build and run large-scale,massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures thatGoogle's services—both our internally critical and ourexternally-visible systems—have reliability, uptime appropriate tousers' needs and a fast rate of improvement. Additionally, SRE’swill keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems capacity andperformance. Much of our software development focuses on optimizingexisting systems, building infrastructure and eliminating workthrough automation.
On the SRE team, you’ll havethe opportunity to manage the complex challenges of scale which areunique to Google, while using your expertise in coding, algorithms,complexity analysis and large-scale systemdesign.

Responsibilities- Leada team of Software/Systems Engineers on projects for users and beresponsible for uptime.
- Own availability andperformance of key services, build automation to prevent problemrecurrence, and automate response to all non-exceptional serviceconditions.
- Lead by example, mentor the team,and establish credibility through quality technicalexecution.
- Manage on-call rotations acrosscontinents, using a follow-the-sunmodel.
- Design, write, and deliver software toimprove the availability, scalability, latency and efficiency ofGoogle's services.
