The role of Infrastructure Support Engineer at The Gap Partnership
Technology is integral to the operation of TGP and plays a fundamental role in enabling the business to operate and to achieve its strategic objectives.
The Infrastructure Support Engineer (based in our office in Düsseldorf, Germany) is responsible for IT infrastructure support activities including maintenance, administration, 2nd and 3rd line support. They will work closely with other members of the Technology team to provide operational support and to ensure timely and efficient resolution of technology-related incidents and service requests.
ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT ENGINEER
- Customer focus - Building and maintaining excellent relationships with end users to earn trust and deliver satisfaction.
- Deliver high-quality customer support by working with users, colleagues and supply partners to manage incidents that occur and ensure timely resolution.
- Employ best practices by working proactively to mitigate the occurrence of incidents, detect and address underlying problems to reduce the likelihood of business impact.
- Work effectively with vendors and internal software development to achieve the best outcomes for TGP including; system stability, responsiveness to change and end-user experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Fluent in German and English (C1)
- Understand of supporting technical support for end-user devices (laptops, cameras, microphones etc.) and cloud-based infrastructure (Microsoft Azure, Azure AD and Intune)
- Customer relationship skills
- Understanding of ITIL service management processes - ITIL v3 foundation certificate (desirable)
- Skilled in IT problem diagnosis and resolution
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (In German and English)
- Ability to produce clear written material
- Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders
- Attention to detail
- Strong planning and organisation skills
- Ability to engage with and seek input from others
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to follow tasks through to completion
- Ability to effectively engage with third-party suppliers
- Ability to work as part of an effective and highly skilled team
- Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
- Open to new ideas and change initiatives, with an ability to modify the current approach in response to changing needs
- This is an office-based role, so successful candidates must be happy to commute to our office in Düsseldorf daily. There may be an option for hybrid working (1-2 days from home) which can be discussed after an initial period of time.
