Research in oncology is a major focus of the Medical Faculty of the TU Dresden. The Research Group "Translational ALL Research" (Head: Prof. Dr. Denis Schewe) is looking for novel strategies to treat childhood leukemia. We work on the molecular mechanisms of residual disease and develop new immunotherapeutic strategies for more efficient treatment.

Starting at the next possible time, we are looking for a

Postdoc in Translational Leukemia Research (f/m/x)

Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, University Childrens ́Hospital

in a full time position. This position is initially limited to 36 months but can be expanded, with remuneration according to the Collective Agreement for the Public Service of the States (TV-L).

  • You will build a new research group in a fantastic scientific environment for oncological research
  • You will work on novel antibody-based immunotherapeutic strategies for more efficient leukemia therapy with less side effects
  • You will use and develop different preclinical in vitro and in vivo models
  • You will participate in local, national and international research consortia
  • You will present your data on meetings
  • You will publish your data in renowned scientific journals
  • You will write your own research proposals
  • You will take care of administrative things in the lab with the PI and the other group members

Your profile:

  • you hold a PhD in biology or another related discipline
  • you have mastered cell culture and Standard molecular biology techniques and have experience in FACS analysis and sorting
  • you are willing to work independently and in a team-oriented manner
  • you have experience in project planning and lab administration
  • you are not afraid to use in vivo models and ideally already hold the formal qualifications to conduct such experiments
  • you will coach and mentor MD and PhD students
  • you enjoy working in an interdisciplinary young and dynamic Team of physicians and scientists
  • you would like to pursue an academic career
