Your mission will be to build software integrations for Enterprise applications and ensure a seamless experience for our B2B customers and their learners. As a Junior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in making our products enterprise-ready. Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain integrations for our enterprise customers, focusing on technologies such as Single Sign-On (SSO), System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM), and Learning Management System (LMS).
You will:- Deliver value iteratively by building high-quality services and tools
- Build, maintain, and take ownership of a rich ecosystem of services and tools
- Contribute to architectural design and constantly propose improvements to the overall architecture
- Ensure that your team's apps and services are healthy, resilient, and perform well
- Collaborate cross-functionally on feature design, architectural decisions, and assessing technical debt
- Shape our coding guidelines and quality standards
- React, troubleshoot, and solve operational events (bugs and incidents)
- Focus on continuous learning and improvement and drive the evolution of our engineering practices
- Experience in building applications using Ruby / Ruby on Rails or Golang
- Knowledge about API design and third-party API integrations
- Basic understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, AWS DynamoDB)
- Knowledge of analyzing metrics about system health and performance
- Basic understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture
- Knowledge of analyzing metrics about system health and performance (for example DataDog, CloudWatch, PagerDuty, Rollbar)
- Testing experience on different levels: unit, integration, etc.
- Good understanding of lean and agile practices
- Openness to learning new things and reaching outside your comfort zone
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience in using AWS (ECS, API Gateway, Kinesis, Lambda, CloudWatch, S3)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, ideally with Terraform
- Knowledge of frontend technologies (web, mobile)
