The RoleWe are seeking to appoint a qualified Biology Teacher to work within our team of secondary teachers. The role is to teach iGCSE and IBDP.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic teacher with experience of enabling pupils to achieve their potential. We are looking for the right balance between experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching that will inspire our pupils.
The secondary department covers the age range 11-18 and incorporates the curricula for Key Stage 3, IGCSE and IB Diploma. Familiarity with the British education system is therefore a prerequisite. Experience of IB teaching is preferred, but not required.
Science is part of the core curriculum for all ages. In Middle School, students follow a course in General Science, which combines topics in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Students take Cambridge IGCSE examinations at age 16, with most pupils studying for the double combined award. In the Sixth Form, students can opt to study either one or two science subjects as part of the IB diploma. Biology is offered at both Standard and Higher Level, and is a popular option for our students.
Given the growing and developing nature of the school, flexibility and the desire to support other team members is a prerequisite. A strong desire to contribute to the rich pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school will also be an advantage.
