Wir sind das internationale Zentrum zur NS-Verfolgung mit dem weltweit größten Archiv zu den Opfern und Überlebenden des Nationalsozialismus. Die Sammlung mit Hinweisen zu rund 17,5 Millionen Menschen gehört zum UNESCO-Weltdokumentenerbe. Sie beinhaltet Dokumente zu den verschiedenen Opfergruppen des NS-Regimes und ist eine wichtige Wissensquelle für die heutige Gesellschaft. Die Arolsen Archives halten weit mehr als 100 Millionen Dokumente bereit, meist über Schicksale von Einzelpersonen.

Im Rahmen unserer digitalen Strategie ist eine Zielsetzung, bis zum Jahr 2025 einen Großteil der Dokumente im Archiv (bzw. deren digitalen Scans) über Personensuche, Geolokation & Sachthemen recherchierbar zu machen. Dazu werden derzeit diverse Indizierungsprojekte durchgeführt.

Innovative Konzepte, cutting-edge Technologien sowie eine begeisterte Umsetzung werden uns bei der Erfüllung dieser – auch gesellschaftspolitischen – Mammutaufgabe unterstützen. Für die Bewältigung der anstehenden Datenaufbereitung und Integration suchen wir dich als Data Integration Expert / Data Scientist als neues Teammitglied

Du arbeitest aktiv bei der Umsetzung verschiedener Teilprojekte zur Metadatenintegration mit. Du wirkst bei der Konzeption und Realisierung von innovativen Lösungen zur Transformation, Integration und Standardisierung großer Datenbestände mit. Du willst den Einsatz von Künstlicher Intelligenz in deinen Arbeitsalltag einbinden und gemeinsam mit dem Team an IT-gestützten Projekten mit internationalen Partnern arbeiten (bspw. Yad Vashem, USHMM, SPINQUE, Ancestry).
Du verfügst über ein erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium im Bereich der Informatik, Geoinformatik, Wirtschaftsinformatik, Mathematik/Statistik oder eine vergleichbare Fachausbildung/Erfahrung in diesem Bereich. Du hast nachgewiesene Kenntnisse im Bereich Datenbanken & SQL, Datenintegration und Massendatenverarbeitung sowie Kenntnisse in funktionalen/objektorientierten Programmiersprachen (Python, Java oder ähnliche). Du konntest bereits Erfahrungen sammeln bei der Bearbeitung großer Datenmengen in Bezug auf Georeferenzierung. Du hast Interesse an der Geschichte des Nationalsozialismus und möchtest dich aktiv engagieren, ein digitales Denkmal für die Opfer des NS-Regimes zu bauen. Für dich ist das Arbeiten im Bereich KI, maschinelles Lernen, Datenvisualisierung, Cloud-Technologien und Wissensgraphen kein Neuland. Du bist kommunikativ, begeisterst andere Menschen mit deinen Ideen und liebst es, im Team zu arbeiten. Verhandlungssichere Kenntnisse in Deutsch und Englisch sind für dich selbstverständlich. Solltest du noch über weitere Sprachkenntnisse verfügen, freuen wir uns umso mehr
Für unsere Mitarbeiter*innen findet der Tarifvertrag TV AL II Anwendung. Dieser beinhaltet eine 38,50-Stunden-Woche, Urlaubs- und Weihnachtsgeld sowie einen Jahres­urlaubs­anspruch von 30 Arbeitstagen. Die Vergütung erfolgt nach der Gehaltsgruppe C-6a.
