Working Student Product Management and Market Intelligence

BASF Stationary Energy Storage GmbH (BSES) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BASF SE. BSES is the exclusive distributer of the NAS batteries and co-develops the NAS technology together with its Japanese partner NGK Insulators Ltd.
RESPONSIBILITIESAs a working student for 10-20 hours per week, you will have the opportunity to support our Marketing and Product Management team in several key areas. One of your main responsibilities will be the creation and maintenance of a sustainable market intelligence platform, which will be crucial in helping us understand and navigate the ever-changing stationary energy storage market. You will also be involved in benchmarking our position within this market, allowing us to identify areas of improvement and potential growth opportunities.
- You will assist in conducting market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- By gathering and organizing relevant data and insights, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of product roadmaps. These roadmaps will guide our product development initiatives and help us align our offerings with market demands.
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics will also be part of your role. This will allow us to assess the performance of our products and identify areas for improvement.
- Furthermore, you will assist in competitive benchmarking and analysis, which will inform our product positioning and differentiation strategies.
- As part of the team, you will contribute to the creation of market intelligence reports, presentations as well as to customer research activities, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing. Your insights and contributions will be valuable in shaping our strategies and decision-making processes.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential in this role to gather requirements, track project progress, and support product development initiatives.
- Finally, you will also provide support in various administrative tasks, documentation, and meeting coordination. These tasks are essential in ensuring smooth operations and effective communication within the team.
- Studies in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics coupled with technical affinity or in Natural science / Engineering coupled with basic understanding of business administration/marketing
- prior internship in product management, strategic marketing, market research, business development or related fields is a plus
- strong analytical and research skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and synthesize data from various sources
- experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- good communication skills in English, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with diverse stakeholders
- interest in clean technologies or related fields
