RESPONSIBILITIESOur group Insecticide Chemistry consists of chemists that work in close collaboration with colleagues from computational chemistry, biochemistry, biology, agronomy, toxicology, ecotoxicology as well as marketing to identify high performing and sustainable insecticidal solutions. The team is located in Ludwigshafen/Germany and interacts on a daily basis with R&D teams located in the US and different sites in Asia.
- In your new role, you steer a priority research project of insecticide research in close collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues and internal partners in R&D, especially with experts in environmental sciences.
- You drive the structure-activity relationship (SAR) evaluation for this pipeline project and lead the synthesis programs to deliver the corresponding analogs through multi-step organic syntheses.
- An integral part of your work is the documentation, presentation and discussion of your research results in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Moreover, you secure intellectual property for the obtained results and closely monitor patent activities of relevant competitors.
- You report the progress of the project to internal stakeholders and make recommendation for further development and resource allocation.
- While accomplishing your tasks, you will also continue to develop your entrepreneurial and personal skills.
- PhD in chemistry or a related discipline along with significant experience in interdisciplinary R&D project management
- profound knowledge in organic preparative synthesis
- practical experience in the evaluation of SAR in agrochemical or medicinal research
- good IT application skills, especially experience in dealing with standard chemistry software
- excellent communication skills in English
