Our Insight Centre is the rapidly growing research and benchmarking arm of A&M and it's mission is to provide our professionals with highly relevant, industry specific, actionable, fact-based insights derived through our proprietary benchmark and research studies on a global basis. The group was founded to adhere to one of A&M's founding principles, "No shooting from the hip". It supports client work and business development projects with an ever-growing toolbox of products, including custom benchmarking and research studies and targeted subscriptions and resources. The team considers research both a science and an art, and as such is committed to developing high-quality, unique, and insightful deliverables to support stakeholders.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Business Research Analyst (m/f/d) based in Munich working directly with project teams to deliver benchmarking, analytics and research services which support thought leadership, business development and client work.

Responsibilities:

You will fulfill a wide range of varied research requests by interacting directly with A&M stakeholders from all divisions and across all levels - from Analysts to Managing Directors. You will engage in the full life-cycle of the request from the scoping phase to delivering the final output. These requests will include, but are not limited to the following examples:

  • Conducting financial analysis on a range of companies to understand their financial health, with particular focus on debt structures
  • Creating market overviews to track industry trends
  • Screening for data on the fixed income market at both a government and corporate level
  • Sourcing commodity pricing/indices
  • Identifying and obtaining reports from industry, financial, IT and news subscriptions and resources
  • Assisting in Selling, General & Administrative (SG&A) functional and process benchmarking
  • Help to manage the research request pipeline through
  • Collaborate with the team to prioritise, coordinate and project manage research requests that are sent to our third-party research partners
  • Promote the Insight Centre and provide education on how to leverage and engage with the Insight Centre
  • Work collaboratively with counterparts in the global Insight Centre team to drive a "one-firm" approach to research Positive and "Let's Get it Done" attitude; willing to pitch in where needed

Essential requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in a related field (relevant Financial Analysis or Information degree preferred)
  • Relevant work experience in a similar role
  • Excellent analytical skills and research experience using Bloomberg
  • Knowledge of other research databases Factiva, Capital IQ, APQC
  • Financial research, financial analysis, and financial markets/trends
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in both German and English
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel)
  • Good project management skills, able to manage a research request pipeline, and multi-task
  • Demonstrable financial research, financial analysis, and financial markets/trends knowledge
  • Outstanding customer relationship management skills, able to manage expectations, delivery timescales, and agree outputs
