Application Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Join ABB and shape the future with us. In our teams, you will use innovative digital
technologies to create better access to clean energy.
The position as a Sales Engineer for the American-made motors business offers you
you a varied task, scope for international activities with a focus on our customers
and personal contact in a motivated team. You are communicative, characterized by a
proactive way of working and can achieve good results even under pressure.

• Leading technical and commercial contract negotiations with external customers, if necessary together with the sales manager or field service, with the support of the commercial sales department

• Establishing, expanding and maintaining customer relationships and identifying the needs of potential customers

• Providing extensive and technically detailed advice and long-term support to our customers

• Checking customer specifications for technical feasibility, implementing requests to internal plants and external subcontractors

• Clarifying discrepancies between specifications and quotation with the customer and suppliers and documenting them in the quotation

• Technical design of the motors in collaboration with the suppliers

• Preparation of technically and commercially fully specified quotations in German and English

• Preparation and tracking of quotations with lost order analysis

• Development of rationalization potentials during quotation processing

• Project management, clarification of commercial issues, preparation of price lists, discounts and calculations

Qualifications for the role
  • Successfully completed studies in the field of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or comparable
  • You already have initial professional experience in a relevant field
  • Technical knowledge in the field of motors
  • Fluent in written and spoken German and English
  • Up to 20% willingness to travel nationally and internationally to customers and factory acceptance tests
