The Department of Cellular Neurobiology at the Johann-Friedrich-Blumenbach-Institute of Zoology and Anthropology at the University of Göttingen is offering a

Postdoc Position (all genders welcome)

The position will be limited to 3 years with the possibility for prolongation and will be filled as soon as possible.

Salary:
Pay grade 100 % TV-L 13 of German state regulated public service salary scale.

Your research

The position will be affiliated with the Göpfert-lab and focus on the roles of TRP family channels and molecular tethers in Drosophila mechanoreceptors.

TRP channel function will be analyzed in vitro (in heterologous expression systems) and in vivo (in fly mechanoreceptors) using electrophysiology and live imaging.

Molecular tethers that can be resolved with transmission electron microscopy will be traced down molecularly and manipulated to explore their role in mechanosensation.

The research will be tightly embedded in existing national and international collaborations, and the position will provide room to also initiate independent, topically related research and to attract and supervise students.

Your profile

To qualify for the position, you should

  • have experience teaching at Bachelor's and/or Master's level and be motivated to contribute to existing courses (animal physiology/neurobiology)
