In the Job (80% of the Time):
  • Work in a multicultural team with engineers from Germany and around the world
  • Gain deeper insights into the development lifecycle of a large project, from prototyping to code development and testing to integration into existing products and frameworks
  • Learn new skills from supervisors with extensive experience in software development
  • Learn about cutting-edge artificial intelligence techniques based on large language models
  • The role allows you enough time to dedicate to your studies
In the Program (20% of the Time):
The modules of the M.Sc. PSE include:
  • Cloud Computing and current database systems
  • Agile software engineering (including a two-semester software project)
  • Frontend development
  • Backend development
  • Modern software architecture and development (e.g., front/backend development)
  • 3 semesters of part-time study plus a 6-month Master's thesis
  • Theory phases in block seminars at the Salamander Areal in Kornwestheim and online (hybrid model, split approximately 50:50)
  • Practical teaching by professors from the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Reutlingen and renowned industry experts
  • A great (learning) atmosphere in small groups
  • Exciting and challenging projects in your partner company where you can directly apply your knowledge in practice
What Should You Bring?For the Job:
  • Required technical and professional competence
  • Software Engineering - Backend development focus
  • Solid practical experience in Python
  • Practical experience with version control systems, preferably Git Practical experience with unit testing
  • Practical experience with Linux
  • Basic knowledge of cloud and containerization technologies
  • Docker/Podman
  • OpenShift / Kubernetes
For the Program:
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or another program with at least 45 ECTS of computer science components
  • Initial experience in software development
  • Passion for new technologies and enjoyment in programming
  • Motivation and willingness to learn
  • Proven English proficiency level B2 (according to the Language Regulations of the University of Reutlingen)
  • Possibly proven German proficiency level C1 (according to the Language Regulations of the University of Reutlingen)
