Owing to the continued growth of our school St. George's School seeks a well-qualified teacher of Chemistry to work across our secondary schools, to begin in August 2024.
The SchoolHaving opened in September 2013, St. George's School Munich has rapidly developed into a thriving community of over 800 pupils and 100 teachers. The school's ethos of combining an enriching curriculum with family orientated care makes the school a warm and engaging place to work and learn.
In September 2017, the school embarked on an exciting phase of its development, as it moved to a new, purpose-built campus located in the city. These premises provide first-class educational facilities for all ages and subject areas.
The National Curriculum is taught throughout the school and we offer IGCSE qualifications to pupils in our Upper School. Students in the Sixth Form prepare the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

The LocationThe school's new campus is located in the area of Schwabing-Freimann, to the north of the city centre. The site enjoys good access to the U6 metro line, as well as the A9 motorway.

Situated on the northern edge of the Alps, Munich offers a high standard of living, as well as numerous opportunities for travel and outdoor pursuits.

The RoleWe are seeking to appoint a qualified Chemistry Teacher to work within our team of secondary teachers. The role is to teach iGCSE and IBDP.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic teacher with experience of enabling pupils to achieve their potential. We are looking for the right balance between experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching that will inspire our pupils.
The secondary department covers the age range 11-18 and incorporates the curricula for Key Stage 3, IGCSE and IB Diploma. Familiarity with the British education system is therefore a prerequisite. Experience of IB teaching is preferred, but not required.
Science is part of the core curriculum for all ages. In Middle School, students follow a course in General Science, which combines topics in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Students take Cambridge IGCSE examinations at age 16, with most pupils studying for the double combined award. In the Sixth Form, students can opt to study either one or two science subjects as part of the IB diploma. Chemistry is offered at both Standard and Higher Level, and is a popular option for our students.
Given the growing and developing nature of the school, flexibility and the desire to support other team members is a prerequisite. A strong desire to contribute to the rich pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school will also be an advantage.
