We are looking for a Corporate Venture Manager (f/m/d) (2 year contract) to join our E.ON Group Innovation GmbH team as soon as possible. What we are looking for is an entrepreneurial team player to take a key role in building and managing our portfolio of corporate growth ventures ("Scale Hubs") to expand their operations, enter new markets and gain access to resources and funding.   • Lead the process of conceptualization and development of new ventures, from idea generation to launch in close collaboration with the venture teams
  • Identify, evaluate, and refine new business opportunities and assess their potential for success
  • Develop and implement business plans for new ventures and ensure they are aligned with E.ON's overall company goals and objectives
  • Identify and secure internal/external funding for new ventures: You will drive the investor discovery process, including preparing pitches, assisting with due diligence, structuring investor communications, and preparing term sheets
  • Be a close partner to the venture teams and help them navigate the early stages of business development
  • Facilitate connections and collaborations between ventures and E.ON as well as other companies, investors, and stakeholders
  • Maintain financial and operational oversight of our venture portfolio and enable making data-driven decisions to optimize our venture portfolio
  • Maintain a holistic oversight of all aspects of venture development for our portfolio, from business model to operational setup, from governance to financial viability, to ensure a data-driven approach to venture decision making which leads to an optimal venture portfolio. Continuously evaluate, iterate and optimize the venture building process to increase efficiency, transparency and scalability
  • You are the problem solver for all challenges that a new corporate venture, as well as its integration into the business or spin-off brings with it

A convincing background

  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset with strong initiative and interest in bringing an innovative idea or solution to life in a corporate environment
  • You have 2+ years of experience in venture building, investing and scaling in corporate environment (e.g. communication with legal and governance)
  • You have a very good understanding of startup growth stages and their respective funding needs; at the same time you are a creative problem solver
  • You are familiar with business cases, company value calculations, data rooms, bridge, seed and serial financing rounds and investor relations
  • You have at least 3+ years of hands-on experience and a proven track record in venture building, venture scaling, startup consulting, and/or business development. Experience with venture capital or investment portfolio management is a plus
