How can we use our financial data to make better business decisions? This is the key question driving the newly formed Strategic Finance and Regional Steering team within Life&Health (LH). As a new team, we are pioneering new approaches to financial planning, analysis, and decision support for the region. Our goal is to become true strategic partners to the Life&Health business units, providing insights and analytics that empower the regional management team to make informed decisions and drive strategic initiatives within our region. The team will be responsible for coordinating the regional aspects of financial steering and translating management reporting into actionable insights. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Valuation Actuary (m/f/d) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities which can be put to use creating key performance indicator metrics to enhance our understanding of the business landscape. As the primary liaison with local valuation teams, this individual will play a pivotal role in driving quarterly management reporting and facilitating data-driven decision-making processes. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is driven by curiosity and adaptability. The successful candidate will demonstrate creativity in problem-solving and a passion for leveraging financial insights to drive strategic growth and innovation within our region.

Your Job
  • Oversee and ensure the production of consistent LH finance deliverables to the Group and LH management team across all metrics:
    • Business and Expense Planning
    • Forecast and Early indication
    • IFRS 17/9 reporting
    • Solvency II and VBM
    • HGB
  • Support development and implementation of new KPIs to plan and monitor the return on investment of business initiatives to provide a deeper understanding of the business and facilitate data-driven decision-making
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and present your findings to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with senior management to shape longer-term financial goals and provide input into strategic discussions
  • Manage high-impact projects or initiatives involving regional accounting and business functions, taking responsibility for resolving complex matters or dealing with difficult situations that have been escalated
  • Provide support to business and valuation teams regarding in-force monitoring, liquidity and retrocession management as well as other activities with impact on financials
  • Establish strong relationships and serve as primary contact with local valuation and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication of financial knowledge and insights
  • Act as a role model and mentor, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within LH and cross-functional teams
Your Profile
  • University degree in mathematics, actuarial science or a similar qualification with a strong quantitative focus
  • Actuarial qualification (e.g. DAV, FIA, FCAS or equivalent) from an internationally recognised body
  • Experience with financial reporting processes and projects is considered an advantage
  • A talent for managing interfaces and building networks
  • Outstanding conceptual, analytical and communication skills, and a pronounced willingness and track record for innovation, driving change, and clearing obstacles
  • Convincing, confident and self-motivated, collaborative and creative in problem-solving, strong customer focus and solution-oriented, and engaging personality
  • Strong command of spoken and written English
