We are looking for a Climate Resilience Analyst, to be based in Munich.

Your Team

Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures, across all industry sectors and risks.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Head of ARC Advisory Services globally, you will work for the ARC Climate Resilience Project; in close collaboration with ARC colleagues, the CatRisk Management team, the Sustainability Solutions team, IT teams and others, you will support the development of a Climate Resilience Tool and Advisory Service for our commercial clients. This includes performing natural catastrophe and climate risk analytics, advising clients on understanding their exposure to climate risks, and developing advisory services that help minimise these risks.

In addition, you will identify and develop innovative features to add to the climate resilience service offering.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
  • Assessing climate change related risks on asset level
  • Being the point of contact for clients on understanding climate risk
  • Developing analytics and reports for our customers
  • Catastrophe modelling
  • Creating innovation features for climate resilience services in insurance
  • Handling scientific relationships with industry, vendors and/or clients
  • Contributing actively to other relevant projects as required


What You'll Bring to the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to play an integral role in building out our climate resilience capability. If you have relevant high-level education, around 3 to 5 years of professional experience in geo sciences, geoinformatics and/or climate change related disciplines and a solid working knowledge of the corporate insurance sector, this Munich-based role could be for you.
  • Technical competence in Geographic Information Systems, as well as in relevant data and CAT modelling tools
  • At ease handling quantitive analytics and data
  • Background in analysing and assessing climate risks (ideally including CAT modelling)
  • At ease creating and maintaining solid relationships with business partners, clients, prospects and vendors
  • Able to translate technical concepts into business strategy and vice versa
  • Fluent business English and used to working in a diverse and multicultural context. A good working level of German would be advantageous.
