Hamburg and Berlin and operates 11 cruise ships. The 6 ships of the
Mein Schiff fleet offer contemporary holidays at sea in the premium segment. With 5 ships, the traditional brand
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises stands for luxury and expedition cruises.

The company already has one of the most modern and environmentally and climate-friendly cruise fleets in the world. In the course of sustainable growth, three more new ships are planned until 2026.

Senior Data Scientist (M/F/x)

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Take the lead in designing and deploying machine learning models and algorithms, including refining our Revenue Management System's algorithms
  • Analyze complex datasets, extract insights, and provide datadriven recommendations to support business decisions
  • Guide and mentor Junior Data Scientists, providing technical leadership and training as necessary
  • Contribute to the evolution of data visualization practices to clearly communicate insights
  • Play a key role in shaping the future of the company through datadriven innovations

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a strong portfolio of projects
  • Expert knowledge of SQL, Python, and machine learning libraries
  • Experience with VCS (e.g. Github, Bitbucket) and Optimization frameworks (e.g. PuLP, OR-Tools) is highly desirable
  • Extensive experience in building predictive models and algorithms
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to lead a team and guide junior members
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience or interest in Pricing topics is highly desirable
  • Experience with data visualization tools is a plus
