Work Package Leader (D/F/M) for A350XWB High Lift System shall be filled at the earliest date.

At this position, you will have a key role in the development of High Lift Systems for our aircraft.

About Aircraft Control Domain:

The aircraft control domain belongs to the Systems center of competence within Engineering.

It is made of a multicultural and transnational team based in France and Germany which is in charge of E2E development of aircraft control systems (Primary Flight Control System, High Lift System, Handling Quality and Hydraulic System).


Your role and tasks as a Work Package Leader (WPL) for A350XWB High Lift System:

  • As Work Package Leader you are the central interface for the High Lift System (ATA 27) towards the customers like programs and customer service.
  • For your perimeter, you ensure that the goals and deliverables of the project are achieved, shaping the actions, plans and strategy to ensure the success of the project.
  • You ensure the overall technical consistency of the work package results. Therefore, you are responsible for defining deliverable/products with customers, including proper planning, execution, ensuring adequate resources and budgets.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that the related work package results are delivered in a timely, cost and quality manner.
  • You lead and coordinate a multiskill engineering team and ensure that goals and services are agreed and clearly understood and communicated with relevant stakeholders.
  • You promote an appropriate product strategy together with the relevant stakeholders, while ensuring proper integration into the aircraft.
  • You carry out risk and opportunities, monitor them and take responsibility for sustainable risk mitigation measures.
  • You are as well responsible to ensure work package deliverables within In-Service Support and other troubleshooting activities are delivered in time, cost and quality.
  • As a leader, you work as a team player supporting the team to reach successes.
  • The perimeter of this position includes accountability for three legacy programs and customer service activities.
The position requires regular travel (2-10 days per month).

Required skills and competences:

  • Technical degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering or electrical engineering
  • Excellent experience in managing large technical projects, knowledge in handling the associated project management tools.
  • Extensive professional experience in engineering, preferably in system engineering and good understanding of the entire development process, inservice process and manufacturing processes
  • Your working style is characterized by assertiveness and determination
  • You support a pragmatic and solutionoriented way of working, you are able to integrate different functions and interests
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in dealing with external suppliers
  • English at the negotiating level, German and French would be regarded as a plus.
