You'll join more than 5,000 CARIDIANS already working on the latest vehicle features and functions like automated driving, state-of-the-art charging technology, as well as a new digital ecosystem.

YOUR TEAM:


The Technology and Innovation Strategy department is looking for a PhD student to work on the latest project on Digital Sustainability.

In this department, we work on continuously identifying and opening up future technology trends, including their impact on vehicle architectures, key technologies and potential future customer features.

We use the start up ecosystem to co-create new topics and collaborate with CARIAD's innovation and pre-development teams.

We're a team of curious people with a strong future mindset embedded into a worldwide innovation network of the VW Group and independent research institutes.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Conduct data analysis, data collection and visualization of the energy footprint within R&D and utilization phase of digital automotive features.
  • Carry out scenario development to quantify the utilization of features within the lifecycle of the vehicle and the customer behavior including: ecosystems, apps, mobile communication, EV charging, etc.
  • Coordinate database set up to enable further use and data refinement for product feature and strategy development.
  • Carry out literature research in the field of the onboard/ offboard energy footprint of digital vehicle features and their reporting standards.
  • Initiate product feature ideas regarding digital sustainability and footprint reduction in collaboration with development teams and start ups.
  • Participate in sustainability communities and stakeholder management on brand and VW Group level.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Completion of Master's degree in Life Cycle Engineering, Sustainable Engineering, Technology Management or equivalent fields.
  • Experience in computational and analytical approaches for life cycle engineering
  • Knowledge about the functional vehicle architecture and related backend systems (databases, cloud services
  • Experience in data collection, analysis and database management
  • Selforganized, creative and passionate about solving complex problems.
