The EU Transportation Operations Management team is looking for Area Managers to oversee operations at our Amazon EU sites and manage yard operations.

The Yard Area Manager is responsible for supervising yard operations in collaboration with Dock, Receive, and Ship teams to ensure FIFO processing and minimize CX impact risks.
An ideal candidate will have a background in transportation operations and possess strong program management skills. They should have the ability to lead and mentor individuals, analyze data, and provide well-founded recommendations in a sometimes unclear environment.
One of the primary responsibilities in this role is to standardize and enhance processes while identifying and eliminating the root causes of issues within the existing systems.
This position demands exceptional communication skills and the ability to drive change at both a local (facility) and global level.
Key job responsibilities:
- Promote a culture of safety and well-being
- Analyze and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent high levels of quality and productivity, meeting business objectives across all shifts
- Support and lead a team, manage administrative tasks, and foster a strong team culture
- Analyze performance and suggest process enhancements to optimize operations and enhance customer service
- Collaborate with other managers to standardize shift processes
A day in the life:
As a Yard Area Manager, you will work shifts at one of our operational sites, focusing on maintaining safety standards within your team and site while ensuring process efficiency. Your daily tasks will include team management, operational duties, individual escalations, process improvements, and operational contingency planning.
Being a crucial part of the operations team means collaborating with colleagues from various teams and external partners to meet customer demands and goals by analyzing data and performance metrics.

The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is instrumental in Amazon's swift deliveries. You will join a diverse team within ATS that utilizes various transportation modes and cutting-edge technology to optimize Amazon's transport operations.
Our team leverages data to make informed decisions, contributing to Amazon's innovation and efficiency. Safety is our top priority, and our team's expertise ensures packages reach their destinations promptly, conveniently, and sustainably.
