This is an

Supporting the German Finance Manager, the Tax Accountant Germany is responsible for correct execution of the duties of the tax department including but not limited to Month (Quarter) End closing activities, certain day-to-day head office accounting / finance duties, preparing Statutory Financial Statements and liaising with Internal and External auditors.

The role will require collaboration with various finance and non-finance staff to ensure complete and accurate accounting records are maintained and that all head office financial reporting and local regulatory requirements are met.


Important responsibilities

  • Support the German Finance Manager on tax related questions and support the Group tax team on tax related topics
  • Ensuring the correctness of the financial accounting for the tax area in compliance with the principles of proper bookkeeping (GOB) and tax accounting regulations
  • Preparation of quarterly (and annual) tax package for group reporting purposes
  • Preparation and execution of tax and other audits
  • Contact person for internal and external customers with questions regarding taxes
  • Preparatory work for tax returns and processing of all sales tax matters
  • Preparation and implementation of VAT returns
  • Support the statutory accountant and finance manager in preparation of annual financial statements for the 3 Trivium Germany legal entities
  • Support the finance manager in preparation of information for KPMG which forms the basis of the tax computations for the companies in the Trivium Germany group and answering any requests or queries they may have on those submissions. This information, which feeds directly into the final tax computations, includes detailed breakdowns of incomes, expenses, assets and liabilities
  • Responding to PWC annual audit requests and queries
  • Responsible for any insurance and customs matters
  • Identifies process deficiencies and manages process improvements
  • Adhoc research on the tax treatment for transactions which are new or unusual within Trivium Germany.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or academic degree in economics and/or accounting with sound tax knowledge
  • 510 years working experience post qualification, preferably in an international company
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and / or Tax Specialist (Steuerfachgehilfe) degree
  • Strong MS Office skills, SAP knowledge preferred
  • Internal and External Audit Principles
  • ERP knowledge
  • HFM Knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to communicate in English.
