Purpose:
Performs as a driver for all APS-2 Fleet vehicles

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily.

Performs Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on equipment and generates a DA Form 2404 (Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet) and reports any faults.

Follows the proper safety procedures in order to minimize any danger to themselves or other workers. Uses the correct hand signals to guide vehicles and equipment around the worksite. Complies with all current driving laws and regulations. Checks loading of the vehicle and ensures that the load is correctly positioned, and the vehicle is not overloaded. Drives equipment to staging areas as designated. Drives equipment onto train carriages under the guidance of Deutsche Bahn Load Masters. Deploys with the Equipment Configuration Hand-off Area (ECHA) team to other work sites.

Drives trucks to destination for pickup and delivery based on instructions or directions received, and by using maps or Satellite Navigation (SAT NAV).

Secures loads being transported to ensure safe and undamaged loads at destination. Reports and receives direction via radio or cellular phone. Assists in loading and unloading of material transported. May be utilized as a crossing guard for inbound/outbound trains after training. Maintains a daily timesheet and daily manning report and ensuring times are accurate. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the Amentum Safety Policies and Procedures.

Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and mínimal lost-time injuries.

Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions. Performs other duties are assigned.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

• 35 years of related work experience driving various types of military vehicles or commercial equivalents.
• Must have a valid driver's license or an appropriate Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or host nation/European Union equivalent.

Specialized knowledge and skills:

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Be able to drive and operate the equipment on site.
• Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
• Must be able to meet and maintain all base licensing requirements.

Work Environment, Physical Demands & Mental Demands:

• Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
• Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
