The position is to be filled on 01 November 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter, and is limited until 31 October 2027.

The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and its follow-up programme, the Excellence Strategy.


In the next four years, the University of Konstanz seeks to establish a European University together with its cooperation partners of EUniWell, the European University for Well-Being.

A part-time position (50-75%) is available in the International Office within the thematic arena "Teacher Education".

The goal of this arena is to deepen, expand, and open up new learning, research, and networking opportunities for, in particular, student teachers, educators, public stakeholders such as local schools, and researchers to develop how EUniWell prepares the Alliance to teach future generations.

We are looking for an outgoing and highly motivated person with experience of working as part of a University administration, who will work closely with the EUniWell project management team to advance the implementation of the Thematic Arena of Teacher Education across EUniWell.

Your Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development of academic content within the EUniWell Teacher Education Arena and Cross-Alliance networking
  • Oversee management and monitoring of the EUniWell Teacher Education Arena
  • Initiate (and support existing) Cross-Alliance Working Groups to develop activities within the Thematic Arena
  • Identify and engage appropriate academic and professional staff to participate in EUniWell Teacher Education Arena activities and initiatives in conjunction with the local EUniWell Managers
  • Coordinate, facilitate and support student engagement
  • Coordinate content generation and activities for communicating and disseminating outcomes, in collaboration with the EUniWell Communication Team
  • Identify potential additional funding streams to support activities in the thematic arena, and contribute to proposal writing
Your Competencies

  • University Master's degree (PhD will be an asset) in an academic discipline related to the EUniWell Teacher Education Arena
  • Highly developed knowledge of research methodology
  • Knowledge of structures and topics of teacher education
  • Extensive academic and leadership experience
  • A track record of achieving goals within timeframe and budget
  • Experience in European or international projects is an asset
  • Ability to work in complex, timesensitive work situations
  • Demonstrated experience working in a digital, distributed work environment
  • Strong communications skills, including the ability to build and sustain relationships with various stakeholders
  • Ability to coordinate and participate effectively in teams
  • Strong intercultural skills
  • Strong sense of professional integrity and collegiality
  • Excellent written and spoken English and German skills
  • Understanding of the higher education landscape, including developing educational programmes and obtaining external research funding
  • Ability to travel
  • Experience in concept development and proposal writing
  • Willingness for hybrid work (in person in the office and working from home)
