The Department for Quantum Technology in the Faculty of Physics at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of aDoctoral Research Associate

at the earliest possible date. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (75% FTE) for 3 years. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.
Your tasks:
- This position is tied to working towards a doctorate.
- Participation in research activities of Prof C Schuck's group, including the planning and execution of independent scientific projects in quantum technology with photonic integrated circuits and superconducting singlephoton detectors.
- Strong contributions to collaborative research projects on quantum sensing and quantum communication with national and international partners in academia and industry.
- The fabrication and characterization of samples in chemical and physical processes. Work in a clean room environment.
- Construction and maintenance of laboratory setups. Work with lasers, electrical instruments, highvacuum equipment, and cryogenic environments.
- You will be required to assist in the organization of a laboratory course on nanofabrication and nanoanalytics for Master students in Physics and act as an advisor to participating students.
Our expectations:
- A graduate degree (i.e. a German Diplom and / or Master's degree or equivalent) in physics, electrical engineering or a closely related field of study is required.
- Experience with work in a cleanroom, the fabrication of semiconductor nanostructures using modern lithography processes (such as EBL) and analysis of nanostructures (such as SEM, AFM, TEM) is indispensable.
- Advanced knowledge of a highlevel, generalpurpose programming language, with a strong preference for Python, and experience in objectoriented programming for experiment automation and data analysis is mandatory.
- Modern nanofabrication facilities are available for developing nanophotonic circuit components, hence experience with further thin film processing and characterization methods is highly beneficial. Prior experience in additional methods for characterizing nanostructured devices and electronic transport measurements is preferred.
- Evidence of aptitude for supervising students and organizing practical tutorials is an essential prerequisite.
- You should be teamoriented, have good communication skills, organisational skills and the ability to work independently. German language skills are not a requirement, but a willingness to learn is desirable
