WELCOME TO THE TEAM

The European Site & Verbund Management continuously develops BASF's major European sites to ensure their competitiveness: managing the perfect integration of infrastructure, operational services, personnel services, and logistics with production. This secures the basic supply of the business areas enabling them to operate successfully in the market. Additionally, providing advice to the plants on all aspects of environmental protection, work and plant safety, health protection, and regulatory law.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In our agile project teams, you will collaborate with our developers and stakeholders to develop end-to-end solutions, solve technical problems, or assist in data analysis.
  • You will design and implement batch and real-time data processing pipelines and systems in the Azure Cloud to enhance the extraction of customer and business insights from our data.
  • Identify areas for improvement and simplification of our current system landscape.
  • Take active responsibility for the quality and scalability of end-to-end data platform solutions, developing best practices and operational concepts for our solutions, Continuous Integration and Deployment, automated tests, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Ensure the availability of high-quality and high-performance APIs/databases for Industry 4.0 projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Above-average Master's degree in (Business) Informatics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics
  • Deep understanding of modern IT architectures for providing cloud solutions (especially IaaS & PaaS)
  • Experience in the development and implementation of microservice architectures as well as in the development of security, governance, and identity concepts in the cloud
  • Comprehensive experience in data management, data streaming; skilled in working with databases (SQL and NoSQL) as well as Big Data and ETL tools (Azure Data Factory, Databricks/Spark)
  • Demonstrated Azure project experience and/or certifications in the area of cloud technologies and solutions in MS-Azure (e.g. Cloud Developer, Cloud DevOps, or Cloud Architect)
  • Practical knowledge and experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment Cloud Deployment Models at Enterprise Level (public, private, hybrid)
  • Sound experience with Infrastructure-as-Code Tools such as Terraform or ARM Templates
  • Programming language skills in Python & JavaScript/TypeScript are advantageous
