  • About the role


This position is part of the Engagement Alliance, which strives to provide the family meal experience that fits our customers' lifestyle, rhythm and goals — in the long term and in every single week.

We do this by working on continuously improving the box experience of any given week - from planning, anticipation, box receipt, food prep and cooking, and adjustments for the upcoming week(s).

We also work on ensuring our customers create healthy habits that will accompany them on their "long term" trajectory to whatever goal they pursue (well-being, convenience, better cooking skills).


As a Senior Director of Engineering, you will work on a critical area to HelloFresh needs with a focus on working effectively in a collaborative environment.

You will lead the engineering organisation of 50+ engineers, which owns the Engagement domain and is focused on the Customer facing journey after sign up.

Pre-Order and Post-Order funnels for all HelloFresh Customers across 18 markets.

What you'll do

  • Own and drive software development globally within our business, balancing between shortterm management of a large tech organisation and longterm vision.
  • Customer Experience and Customer Retention are key focus areas. You will own how we achieve success with our new and existing Customers. This is a top initiative for the company and thus provides high visibility and opportunities to grow.
  • Develop and influence strategies that have a direct impact on overall business key results.
  • Hire, inspire, manage, and grow a large engineering team, as well as be a leader of leaders and ensure engineers have growth opportunities in HelloTech.
  • Set and ensure the upholding of high standards and software engineering best practices that reliably scale technologies across 18+ markets and multiple brands.
  • Be part of the technology leadership team and help set strategy and goals across multiple engineering teams
  • Play a key role in ensuring the ongoing alignment of our technology with the overall business strategy for the company
What you'll bring

  • Strong Technical background e.g.
  • Ability to design and support distributed systems, deepdive technical problems endtoend (frontend and backend systems).
  • Previous experience in a Consumer facing role with Mobile App and/or Web experience is required. Experience driving personalization solutions (audience segmentation, ML, AI) is a big plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering key results that have a clear impact on achieving strategic business outcomes.
  • Ability to build effective and clear communication in a fastgrowing engineering organization
  • Proven ability to influence others and facilitate agreement among stakeholders with different interests
