Senior Actuarial Expert P&C

Reporting to the Head of P&C Reserving, you would be part of a small, friendly and professional team, fully integrated with all aspects of the quarterly and annual reporting processes with focus on IFRS disclosures.

You will take over a senior role in the team and manage the quarterly IFRS closings. This also includes the internal preparation and the result discussion with senior stakeholders across the organization. You will orchestrate the IFRS work for the team and bring continuous improvements into the daily work in close exchange with the Head of P&C Reserving and the Chief Actuary. You will act as deputy to the Head of P&C Reserving to help shape their future actuarial work environment.

Key responsibilities

Manage the quarterly IFRS closing process including result presentation to internal and external stakeholders

Perform P&C reserving on IFRS 17 bases for a global reinsurance company

Drive the development work around IFRS 17 calculation and reporting processes

Act as first contact person for reserving actuaries for technical guidance and advice on IFRS 17 topics

Ensure completeness and high quality of internal controls and documentations

Qualifications

Qualified actuary of a recognized actuarial society (DAV, IFoA, etc.)

University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field

Fluency in English speaking and writing, German is a plus

Experience & Key skills

Several years (>6) of experience in P&C reinsurance reserving or in a similar actuarial role in reinsurance (Pricing, risk modelling, etc.)

Very good understanding of reserving and reporting processes, especially under IFRS 17

Experience with reporting to senior management in a financial reporting and/or actuarial context, including designing such reports

Ability to manage a team and collaborate closely with colleagues across several disciplines

Team player with the ability to work independently with attention to detail as well as ability to apply high-level judgement

Self-directed and well organised

Pro-active working attitude and willingness to work under time pressure

Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment

Excellent communication skills

Highly motivated and open minded person who sees challenges as opportunities
