Operating Partner – Private Equity Fund (Restructuring & Transformation)
Location: Germany
Company Overview: Our client is a leading private equity fund with a strong focus on the industrial sector. The fund specializes in acquiring and transforming underperforming businesses through strategic restructuring and operational improvements. Position Overview: The Operating Partner will play a critical role in the restructuring and transformation of portfolio companies within the industrial sector. Based in Germany, this senior-level executive will work closely with the fund's investment team and portfolio company management to develop and implement operational improvement strategies, drive performance enhancements, and ensure successful turnarounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the operational restructuring and transformation efforts of portfolio companies, with a focus on the industrial sector.
- Collaborate with the investment team to identify value creation opportunities and develop strategic plans for operational improvements.
- Work closely with portfolio company management teams to implement restructuring initiatives, including cost reduction, process optimization, and organizational realignment.
- Monitor and track the progress of restructuring efforts, ensuring timely and effective execution of strategic plans.
- Provide hands-on support and expertise in areas such as supply chain management, production efficiency, lean manufacturing, and quality improvement.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within portfolio companies, driving sustainable operational excellence.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to portfolio company CEOs and management teams, offering strategic guidance and operational insights.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and report on key operational metrics to the fund's leadership team.
- Assist in the due diligence process for potential acquisitions, evaluating operational capabilities and identifying areas for improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry experts, consultants, and other external partners to support restructuring initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operational leadership roles within the industrial sector, with a strong background in restructuring and transformation.
- Proven track record of successfully leading operational turnarounds and driving performance improvements in underperforming businesses.
- Deep understanding of industrial manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective operational strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and management teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Fluency in German and English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Germany and internationally as needed.
