About the Job and the Company

We are in search of a Communication Manager with strong skills and a deep dedication to FSC's cause to join our team in an international setting.

As a vital part of the Digital Communication team at the Technology and Information Unit (TIU), the Communication Manager will be responsible for developing, establishing, and enhancing communication strategies to raise awareness about TIU's roadmap, promote FSC's digital products, applications, and assist in driving the adoption of new tools from a B2B and B2Stakeholder perspective.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive communication strategies to align with organizational goals and ensure successful launches of digital products and services, including messaging and positioning.
  • Work closely with systems experts and program managers to lead the communication plan from inception to completion for launching digital products to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with application development teams within TIU to grasp product features, benefits, and target audiences for executing communication campaigns across various channels to raise awareness and foster adoption of current and upcoming application releases.
  • Create engaging content for articles, presentations, factsheets, guidelines, brochures, infographics, and other communication materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency with brand voice and values.
  • Cooperate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Global Communication teams, to bolster integrated communication initiatives and achieve business objectives.
  • Work closely with the social media team to devise the social media strategy for TIU, covering digital media content, campaign concepts, timely posting, promotion, and reporting.
  • Analyze communication metrics and performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and guide future endeavors.
  • Offer guidance, training, and assistance to team members and stakeholders on best communication practices and messaging strategies.
  • Lead the creation of videos and podcasts for web, social media, and other platforms, from scripting to final assets.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Digital Communication Programme Manager.
Your Qualifications
  • Education and Training: Bachelor's degree in Digital Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.
Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in communication, preferably within the technology and information sector focusing on launching applications and digital products.
  • Experience in collaborating with digital/technology and application development.
  • Capacity for strategic thinking and problem-solving to develop innovative communication strategies driving product adoption.
  • Thorough understanding of communication principles, methodologies, tools, and platforms.
  • Proven ability to articulate clear and concise messages on complex technical subjects.
  • Experience in managing or creating content for social media channels.
  • Demonstrated capability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced communication environment.
  • Proficient in managing an in-house production process, establishing schedules, deadlines, and allocating work effectively.
  • Effective team player with a drive to achieve results collaboratively.
  • Service-oriented approach to work with a proactive and flexible mindset.
  • Strong commitment to responsible forestry and sustainability in line with FSC's mission.
Communication & Languages:
  • Demonstrated high-quality written and verbal communication skills, delivering complex messages clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent copywriting skills, including writing, editing, and proofreading content for various platforms.
  • Open and communicative personality with strong B2B and B2C focus.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders supporting FSC's mission.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written); proficiency in other languages, particularly Spanish and French, is beneficial.
Digital Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with Social media monitoring tools.
  • Experience with newsletter tools like Sendgrid.
  • Competence in Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Drupal content management systems is advantageous.
