Our primary school offers a high-quality education programme for over 260 children aged 6 to 11. It supports each student's personal, social, academic, physical and emotional development in an internationally oriented context.

In our primary school an international curriculum is used to ensure that we provide a clear and consistent curriculum that appropriately challenges the students.

To best support the needs of our incoming grade 1 students for the school year 2023/24, we are looking for a primary school teacher who will be able to support the first-grade classes as a floating co-teacher.

The co-teaching team will provide all the lessons of their class with the exception of Physical Education, Music and German which are taught by specialists.

The teaching team as well as specialists plan and work together to ensure that each class provides the consistent opportunities for learning plus appropriate and interesting resources.

Students learn in a range of ways including group work, guided work, student-initiated projects and individually.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Cocreate a safe and stimulating learning environment in which the students can discover and develop their intellectual, physical, social and creative potential
• Promote the motto of our school "learning to be a citizen of the world", so that students develop the skills to think and act with openness to the perspectives, values and traditions of other individuals, cultures and communities, and thus develop an international understanding
• Collaboratively plan, adapt, deliver and assess work for your students in parallel with your grade team partners and specialists
• Deliver relevant, current and challenging lessons that will allow students to make outstanding progress and grow in confidence as they transition into the primary school years
• Provide authentic, formative feedback through which your students can improve their skills, knowledge and understanding plus develop their higher order thinking
• In coordination with the grade level team, communicate clearly and regularly with parents to keep them informed about class activities and their child's achievement and progress with focus on academics as well as socialemotional learning
• Develop best practices in the primary school through sharing expertise, experience and resources
• Work as a contributing member of the primary school to ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place and delivered uniformly
• Work as a contributing member of Leipzig International School to ensure a cohesive approach to learning

Your profile:

• A University degree in Primary Education
• Valid Teaching License
• High competency in written and spoken English
• Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as the use of IT and new technologies
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• Proven ability as an excellent classroom teacher
• Experience of working in an internationallyminded and diverse school community is preferred
• Experience with an international curricula is preferred
