Head of Global Master Data, Rate and Contract

Your tasks:

  • Work with Air and Ocean Freight Processes & Systems teams to define and manage Air and Ocean Freight Master Data objects
  • Establish and administer Data Stewardship by respective Product Business Owners for inscope Master Data objects.
  • In collaboration with the responsible functional units, define, provide, and run processes and tools for Air and Ocean MDM (i.e. different approval workflows for different types of MD)
  • Provide tools for monitoring master data completeness and quality across Air and Ocean
  • Support Air, Ocean, and IT in managing and executing master data migration and data cleansing initiatives
  • Steer MDM initiatives on Global Air and Ocean Freight program level
  • Work with Air and Ocean Freight Processes & Systems teams to maintain the integrity of rate structures across processes
  • Define, provide, and run processes and tools for updating rates from "award to invoice" (selling, buying, internal), in collaboration with Air and Ocean Processes & Systems teams
  • Act as Business Owner for global Rate and Contract Database for Air and Ocean Freight and their integration with adjacent systems (e.g., quotation, tender management)
  • Work with Air and Ocean Freight Processes & Systems teams to manage the integration of rate and contract databases into the business processes for data maintenance and data usage
  • Drive the development for enhanced and automated Master Data integration (e.g. sailing schedules, routing information rates and contracts, etc.) in close collaboration with other Air and Ocean Processes & Systems teams, especially Partner Integration and Data & Analysis
  • Advising on and vetting of system change requests related to Air and Ocean MDM and RCM
  • Support business test activities (UAT) related to MDM and RCM
  • Act as business partner for Shared Service Center team supporting MDM and RCM processes in Air and Ocean
  • Leads and manages a team of Master Data and Rate Management specialists
  • Manages all services, employees and costs within his / her department; provides effective leadership and management to staff which promotes high performance standards both individually and as a team
  • Sets up and conducts resource planning, allocation of resources for projects and / or services, prioritization of tasks, as well as budget planning, controlling and activities to keep the department budget
  • Reports unit results, KPIs, projects etc. to the Global Head of Cross-Product Air
- and Ocean P+S

Requirements:

Your profile:

  • The role requires an individual who has finished studies in the area of logistics or several years of working experience in the ocean or airfreight forwarding business.
  • Several years track record in a large Air and Ocean forwarding organizations with an emphasis on process and systems work related to MDM and RCM
  • Leadership experience in managing crossfunctional teams, virtual communities & influencing senior level management and key stakeholders
  • Comprehensive understanding of endtoend business process context in global freight forwarding
  • Thorough understanding of operational environments in global freight forwarding
  • Ability to synthesize and articulate clear problem statements from varied inputs and viewpoints
  • Very strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Attention to details and strong organizational skills
  • Solid understanding of IT architectures and the implications of business decisions onto IT and vice versa
  • Strong communications, influencing and negotiations skills incl. track record of presenting to large groups and top management groups at board meetings or at conferences
  • Innovative curiosity, passion for problemsolving
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
