The inIT

The scope of duties will include the following aspects in particular:

  • Collaborative work at a research project belonging to the SAIL network
  • Independent research (under supervision)
  • Writing scientific publications, presenting results on conferences, writing a PhD thesis
  • Supervision of Bachelor and Master theses
  • Optionally: teaching
  • Master degree in computer science, math, physics or comparable
  • Drive for pursuing a PhD in mathmatical aspects of machine learning
  • Independent and structured style of working and being able to conduct research independently
  • Knowledge of software development (e.g. in Python)
  • Oral and written English skills
  • Strong mathematical background
  • Knowledge in machine learning and data analysis is advantageous
  • Experiences with academic teaching are desirable
