Position Summary:

Advanced Energy's products are essential for the manufacturing of laptops, tablets, mobile phones, transportation, and solar energy. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will tackle challenging and dynamic tasks in a highly motivated global team. Each day brings new experiences as you work with cutting-edge products, applications, and key customers in semiconductor, flat panel display, and other thin-film markets. In this key role, you will collaborate worldwide with all aspects of the company, key suppliers, OEMs, and end-users, witnessing firsthand the impact of your work on the company's success.

Main Responsibilities and Skills

• Design, analyze, and document electromechanical cooling systems and other typical electronic cooling mechanisms.
• Model and design heat transfer related to air- and water-cooled electronic systems, including testing for validation of simulations/calculations.
• Create mechanical models/drawings according to GD&T standards and perform complex tolerance analysis.
• Specify experiments and procedures for design concepts testing and validation.
• Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, aiming to minimize complexity and parts count while maximizing product manufacturability, testability, and maintainability.
• Design product components for typical manufacturing processes in the supply chain.

Required Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in 3-D CAD software such as Solidworks.
• Solid understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles, including knowledge of the Poke Yoke concept.
• Proficiency in ANSI Y14.5, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and tolerance analysis.
• Knowledge of materials science, including thermal behavior, material compatibility, metal alloys, corrosion, and heat transfer.
• Experience with numerical analysis software like ANSYS, CFD-ACE+, COMSOL, etc.
• Ability to manage projects from start to finish, including schedule and cost adherence.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and German. C1 proficiency desired.
• Comfortable working in a flexible and dynamic environment.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in the development of electronic systems.
• 2 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
• Knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes.
• Expertise in the design, documentation, and maintenance of various mechanical parts and components.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
