to start as soon as possible.


Clinical research physician (M/F/d)

at the department of clinical research

Description of the position:


Research Group Groger is looking for a medical doctor with clinical experience and seeking a full-time research position to support clinical trial oversight and conduct.

The clinical research physician supports the group lead and works closely together with the project management team.

Responsibilities include medical support of academic clinical trials conducted in sub-Saharan Africa as well as implementation, execution and completion of clinical research projects in collaboration with internal and external partners, particularly in the field of Lassa fever.

We welcome applicants that are excited to leave the patient's bed-side and transition to academic clinical drug development. Clinical work or transition to a clinical position are not within the scope of this position.

Scope of work:

  • Medical input to study protocols, study procedures and manuals, weighing relevance and feasibility in resource limited settings
  • Medical monitoring of trial data
  • Pharmacovigilance related oversight of safety data
  • Project oversight on behalf of the group lead
  • We expect motivation, team spirit, flexibility, a positive mindset and high frustration tolerance.
  • As part of the clinical trial activities, travels to Nigeria and other African countries may be necessary. Applicants should be aware of and accept the potential security risks associated with such missions.

Your Profile:

  • University degree in human medicine (European or nonEuropean)
  • Clinical training in a relevant specialized field for two years
  • Professional experience in clinical trials
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English and German
  • Additional qualifications in regulatory clinical trials, French language skills, and work experience in subSaharan Africa are beneficial.
  • Independent and timely management of projects

  • Diligence and overcoming of challenging situations
