Director AI/ML Evidence Generation (M/F/x):

Purpose of the function:

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for all functional activities for at least one Compound, acting as the functional expert within the assigned program, ensuring that activities for evidence generation are scientifically sound and that the evidence generated meets requirements of internal (Medical Affairs and HEOR) as well as external stakeholders (KOLs, HTA and pricing agencies)
  • Lead critical AI/ML activities and ensure timely and accurate completion of relevant deliverables
  • Contribute to documents submitted to Regulatory or Pricing Authorities
  • Responsible for providing senior governance, direction, and execution of oversight of vendor delivery, to ensure compliance with the protocol, external/internal standards, applicable regulatory guidelines, Policies, SOPs, and other relevant guidelines
  • May sponsor lead and/or participate in Global Evidence Generation initiatives to improve the harmonization and efficiency of processes and develop and implement innovative solutions
  • Function as Subject Matter Expert for AI/ML, by providing guidance and support to EG team members as well as representing EG department in crossfunctional teams
  • Demonstrates leadership within AI/ML by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to optimize technology, processes, and standards (improving quality/inspection readiness, decreasing cycle times, and reducing costs)

Requirements:

  • MSc (PhD preferable) in statistics, pharmacoepidemiology, computational biology or computer science or related topics as well as at least 10 years of experience (with at least three in Pharma) in a statistical and/or data science / business intelligence role supporting drug development and/or post marketing in a Clinical Research, Pharmaceutical, CRO or Medical Device setting
  • Experience in oncology therapeutic area and/or in late phase projects is an advantage
  • Extensive programming experience in R and/or Python, esp. working with data frames. Experience with version control (e.g. git) is required
  • Proficiency with Machine Learning to solve clustering, classification, regression, anomaly detection, simulation and optimization problems on large scale data sets
  • Experience with data visualization tools, preferably: Qlik, Power BI etc.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies desired: Databricks, Cloud AI platforms, containerization etc.
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in explaining in simple terms complex concepts
  • Good negotiation and project management skills
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurship and leadership and proactive problem solving.
  • Demonstrated expertise in study design conduct and execution
  • Extended knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts, methods, and standards of Clinical Research.
  • Ability and interest to work remotely with worldwide team members across cultures and time zones
