The Pricing, Systems & Analytics department in Corporate Underwriting equips MunichRE's Underwriting in the reinsurance organization with quantitative methods to efficiently and excellently understand and manage Non-life risks.
In particular, our tools and analyses support operative underwriting units in structuring and pricing sustainable coverage solutions and steering their portfolios.
We are looking for a dedicated person to work on actuarial/statistical analytics projects like e.g. historical profitability analyses or the development of Pricing foundations (e.g. exposure curves, tariffs) for use in P&C reinsuranceYour Job
- Identifying promising ideas with a clear focus on added business value, and embedding them into the overall department landscape
- Running actuarial/statistical analytics projects in close cooperation with individual Underwriting units, Data Assets & Analytics and Claims
- Shaping and translating Underwriting needs and requests into analysis requirements
- Developing pricing models ("tariffs") based on data, for use in MR's worldwide Reinsurance Underwriting
- Implementation of tariffs, e.g. in Python or R, or prototyping in Excel
- Supporting Munich Re's strategic goal to strengthen datadriven decision making
- Shaping an establishing the new team as an important contributor to the success of Corporate Underwriting
Your Profile
- Degree in mathematics, statistics, natural sciences or equivalent qualification
- Experience in working with and analysing large amounts of data, using modern analytic tools
- Experience in quantitative aspects of Nonlife underwriting
- Database and programming skills (e.g. R, Python, SQL)
- Ability to explain complicated issues to a nonconversant audience
- Team player with very good communication skills
- Highly selfmotivated, didactic and intercultural competence
- Very good command of oral and written English
