Amazon Area Manager Position

The operational division is the core of Amazon. This essential part of our company ensures the efficient delivery of orders, so that our customers receive their items on time. As an Area Manager, your role is to ensure that all processes at your location run as smoothly as possible to meet customer demand. You lead a team responsible for the safety, efficiency, and top-notch quality of our operations. Additionally, you oversee a range of projects across our network to enhance productivity.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Create, supervise, and promote a culture of safety and well-being
• Analyze and implement changes to continuously ensure high quality and productivity
• Supervise projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and enhance service quality for customers in your area of responsibility
• Analyze shifts according to company guidelines and take actions to improve operational excellence
• Collaborate with senior colleagues to standardize shift procedures

A Day in the Life:

You work in shifts at one of our locations, ensuring that operations are as productive as possible. Your main focus is leading and fostering a safety culture, maintaining quality, and performance standards of work shifts. You also oversee process improvements in your area and organize their implementation. A typical day includes team management, daily operational tasks, process enhancement, and extensive operational duties for contingencies. Additionally, you serve as a role model and mentor for new managers.

About the Team:

Our Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Team is essential for fulfilling Amazon's fast delivery promise. We are a diverse team that plays a central role in the success of our supply chain. Collaborating with air and sea freight companies, road hauliers, and our state-of-the-art sorting centers, you ensure efficient delivery to Amazon customers. Our team analyzes data to make decisions and make Amazon more efficient and innovative.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree completion
• Leadership experience
• Relevant experience in communicating with various stakeholders, including colleagues and executives
• Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to justify business decisions
• Advanced English and German language skills in both verbal and written communication

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with Lean, Six-Sigma, and Kaizen methods
• Experience in another logistics environment
• Experience working with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting
