Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

:

  • Aviation Ground Support Equipment Technician has proven maintenance, repair and technical experience and background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or military operations or maintenance.
  • Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, tractors, and aviation ground equipment.
  • Work involves replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

6+ years of qualified automotive maintenance experience.

  • Ability to meet the government deployment physical requirements.
  • Maintenance support includes operations of powered and nonpowered units, system troubleshooting, engineering, analysis, maintenance and repair of commercial and military aviation ground support systems and subsystems to the component level.
  • Proficient with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multimeters.
  • Effectively applies industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components.
  • Preferably familiar or knowledge with commercial and military aviation ground support equipment.
  • Prior training or maintenance experience on light or heavyduty trucks, ground power units, aircraft tugs, air conditioning and heater units, cargo loaders, deicing vehicles, runway sweepers, light carts, aircraft towbars, firefighting equipment, fuel and defuel equipment required.
  • Travel to hostile areas is required.
  • Must be able to meet all government Individual Replacement Deployment Operations (IRDO) requirements for foreign travel into operational locations.
  • Position requires moderate to lengthy travel to various US or OCONUS locations. We seek flexibility and willingness to deploy to all/any of these locations, including Southwest Asia and South-Central Asia. Some OCONUS deployments may be hostile ("war zone") environments.
  • Insurable Driver's License required.

Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening.

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

Desired Qualifications

:

  • Holding an existing German or European Work VISA is preferred.
  • Prior training or maintenance experience on MRAP FOV systems preferable.
  • Preferably familiar or knowledgeable with MRAP/RCV systems.
  • Willingness to travel to hostile areas is desired.
  • Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations.
  • Willingness to deploy to all/any of these locations, including Southwest Asia and South-Central Asia.
  • Some OCONUS deployments may be too risky hostile ("war zone") environments which earn larger bonuses.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a (
    DoD) Public Trust clearance.

Physical Requirements

:

  • Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and knee.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
  • Must be able to work in high noise areas.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
  • Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
