Job DescriptionWidenet Consulting is currently recruiting for an experienced Software Engineer capable of designing and building a next generation platform. Our focus is on building a global, secure, performant, service-oriented platform with first-class developer ergonomics. The platform will enable our applications to efficiently process petabytes of unique information and create superb user experiences.
We face a variety of challenges at the scale we operate:
Mixed workloads. Most of our applications require high performance transactional data stores with supplemental analytical systems updated in near real-time. These systems must work together and handle a variety of user-interactive use cases while seamlessly processing 24x7 data integration traffic (API, ETL).
Real-time data analytics. We have a number of use cases across our applications where users need to issue arbitrary queries across very large data sets, and get answers in real-time.
Traffic spikes. Some of our applications communicate direct to consumers, and need to handle large bursts of traffic -- autoscaling is a requirement for us, not an optimization.
Global orchestration. We are a global company operating in 100+ countries, and have a variety of data assets with regional restrictions. Our services and applications need to run everywhere.
Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline or related field or combination of education and relevant experience.
QualificationsModern packaging and provisioning tools: Docker, Vagrant & SaltStack.
Big Data technologies: Hadoop, Redshift, Impala & DynamoDB.
C#, including Mono and ASP.NET "vNext" / Roslyn powered REST microservices.
