Business & Account Development Director for the Life Sciences & Healthcare sector, you will:

  • Continuously review business potential and identify opportunities in the LSH sector by supporting the contract renewal activities and answering incoming RFQs
  • Develop and leverage constructive relationships with customers within the LSH sector to understand their organization, requirements, and objectives.
  • Conduct research on strategically prioritized areas, sectors, and target accounts within LSH EMEA to identify potential areas for business opportunities
  • Present solution proposal and business fit to decisionmakers, engage in negotiation, and close the deal
  • Collaborate with internal functions that support the sales process, gather required input, and coordinate actions
  • Work in close cooperation with countries/clusters' commercial and & customer operation teams
  • Facilitate knowledge and bestpractice sharing between the DSC community within the LSH EMEA sector
  • Conduct opportunity assessment for identified opportunities and develop recommendations on pursuit or cancellation based on financial attractiveness, risk, and fit of customer requirements with DSC capabilities
  • Develop a structured plan on how to win the opportunity (winplan) ensuring quality and commercial standards are met
  • Support the Account team to collect customer feedback after the opportunity and conduct an internal Post-Opportunity Review
  • Be a strong promoter and advocate of the customer within DHL by exhibiting strong care for your customers' business and success
  • Support clusters and in some cases prepare, conduct, and accompany handover to operations after closure, act as the customer's prime contact until handover to Operations/ Account Management is finalized

Now, here's what we need from you:

  • Experience in Business development/sales/commercial or relevant fields
  • Experience in logistics (preferably warehousing & transport, supply chain, LLP, Service Logistics) and very good knowledge of DSC competitors
  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant business or supply chain management field
  • Proven track record of success in delivering against profit targets
  • Customerfocused professional commercial skills
  • Excellent consultative and persuasive skills and techniques
  • Exemplary relationship management skills with great presentation and facilitation skills to run joint customer workshops
  • Ability to think strategically, conceptually, and communicate effectively in a multicultural/internationally complex environment
  • Fluency in English written and spoken
  • Strong drive and resilience with a proven track record of taking initiative
  • Open to travel up to 50% of the working time
What can you bring as a plus?

  • Life Sciences and Health sector knowledge
  • Highlevel contractual and commercial negotiation experience with service providers and customers of the LSH sector
  • Experience in other divisions and/or functions (e.g., GCS, DGF, etc.)
  • Fluency in any further EU language
