About the Position:

This position requires the incumbent to formulate and justify a segment of the command budget for Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAFRICA) within U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and involving U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM). Analyzes AFRICOM and SOCOM headquarters program and budgetary guidance. Responsible for formulation offunding programs includes O&M (MFP 2 & 11), OCO, revolving, investment, and FMS.



Duties
  • Develop narrative justification statements and presentation material for budget submissions and reprogramming requests.
  • Review obligations, expenditures and reimbursable orders by examining accounting records, through continuing dialogue with program officials and by reviewing financial documents.
  • Assist in developing budget policy and guidance, budget formulation, budget execution, and providing financial advisory services to the organization.
  • Provide management with financial information such as financial reports showing the status of receipts, obligations and expenditures of funds within an organization.
  • Oversee budget and budget-related data using automated systems.
  • Allocate funds based on an analysis of activity budget estimates, historical expenditures, projected workload, and approved funding to individual activities.
