What you'll do

The responsibilities of a Software Quality Engineer encompass ensuring an exceptional user experience for our mobile apps, while meticulously adhering to industry standards. Joining our Mobile Experience & Engineering Unit at SAP Labs Munich, you'll integrate into a dynamic team passionate about cutting-edge technology. This role offers the chance to shape the quality engineering framework across all mobile applications, leveraging your structured approach and unwavering attention to detail.

On a daily basis you will:

• Learn the basics of quality engineering by developing test cases, test scenarios, and test data based on project requirements and specifications in our test management tool Xray.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts to streamline repetitive testing activities.
• Integrate automated testing into the continuous integration and continuous testing process.
• Work closely with developers, product managers, product owners, and other team members to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and to clarify issues as they arise.
• Work on innovative technologies together with your peers to develop new quality solutions using Gen AI capabilities.

As our Quality Engineer you will have the opportunity to

• Learn the end-to-end software development lifecycle of mobile apps, from idieation to design until the actual release in the App Store
• Learn how to use the number 1 tool in software development lifecycle management (Jira) and the most commonly used Test Management tool (Xray Plugin)
• Learn about different agile techniques and how to use them in modern software development.
• Apply new technologies like Gen AI and try innovative products like the Vision Pro.

Moreover, this position will set you up for a career in agile mobile quality engineering and teach you about how complex software development can be in large organizations with a focus on quality. You will have the opportunity to support wherever help is needed and therefore, grow in all directions. If wished, you can also explore and support in areas of project management or learn the basics on how to develop mobile apps from our experienced colleagues.

What you bring

• Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
• Preferred fields of study: Computer Science or a related course of study
• Language skills: Fluent in English, German is a plus.
• Basic understanding of Quality Engineering & Agile Software Development is recommended
• High standards of quality and great attention to detail
• Additional soft skills: Open minded, curious, results oriented and team player, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proactive, structured and communicative.
• Most importantly, keen on learning about manual & automated Quality Engineering and DevOps

Our mission is to bring the mobile portfolio together in ways that offer customers innovative mobile user experience across their business processes while leveraging latest native technologies and delivering on best of breed capabilities in each market segment.

The Mobile Experience & Engineering unit is the central place for SAP’s mobile app development and everything around mobile technology. In our responsibility lies the holistic, persona-centric mobile portfolio definition, the overall mobile app development, including app lifecycle management plus the necessary governance to ensure customer success.

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
