Responsibilities

This is the intermediate level job. Performs routine tasks in the design of new products and makes improvements to existing products. Learning to evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability. Work is overseen by leader to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular discipline. Resolves routine questions or problems, referring only complex issues to a higher level.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Perform engineering tasks using established procedures, these include, but are not limited to stress analysis, material selection, cost estimation. Coordinates all activities associated with technical developments, scheduling, budgeting, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Prepares calculations and design packages as required to complete design reviews. Modifies existing products to meet internal or external customer requirements. Prepares, detailed drawings and layouts, creates engineering layouts for fit, form and function. Prepares documentation as required for Engineering files. Develops new products and services. Anticipates possible failure modes on products and recommends solutions based on experience. Performs comprehensive analysis of critical components to eliminate possible failure modes, in new or existing products. Analyses test data to determine if the product meets predetermined technical specifications. Understands the key limitations and advantages to manufacturing the product in different manners. Demonstrates an understanding of fundamental design tools such as threaded connections, seals, plated surfaces, heat treating, etc. May utilize computer driven engineering software to complete complex analysis. Assists others with all engineering activities to include working within the Product Development Process. Routinely demonstrates the ability to converge on a solution in a commercially viable amount of time in the absence of extensive guidance. Performs task/project with oversight of a senior engineer, such as (Project / Principal / Supervisor / Manager). Will contribute specific tasks in the project scope. Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level. Performs various other duties and activities as assigned by senior management within the physical constraints of the job.

Qualifications

Must have B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, design engineering, or relevant field 2 - 5 + years related experience w/ demonstrated mechanical design Creo and Windchill experience The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Accurate and strong attention to detail Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Organizational talent, quality, and responsibility awarenessFluent knowledge of German and EnglishStrong analytical skills and strong communication skillsWillingness to perform and flexibilityEnjoy working in an international environmentOccasional willingness to travel
