Wet Petfood Product Developer

Job Description:

The European Product Development and Implementation Team for Wet Petfood is based in Verden and co-located with a manufacturing site, pilot plant, global R&D teams, and many more. We are looking for a Wet Petfood Product Developer that will own and deliver small to medium projects in Europe in order to maintain or improve the quality, efficiency and performance of existing and/or new products. You will develop product and recipe solutions against brand and business targets including claims, costs, sustainability and more.

• Degree in biological / life / food sciences or equivalent, or professional qualification in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. Food Technology, Nutrition, Quality Management, Engineering)

• Must speak excellent English and ideally at least one other European language

• Understanding of industrial food manufacturing processes

• Understanding of functionality and nutrition of raw materials

• Understanding of consumer trends and needs

• Ideally, technical experiences in the category of dog and cat food

• Scientific methods and mindset

• Accountable for delivering operational objectives, small to medium projects work streams or project milestones within larger projects within the European Wet Petfood project team

• Responsible for management of their activities,  in consultation with the line manager/technical portfolio leader and / or project leader for business projects from initiation, to prototyping until factory handover

• Accountable for organisation and planning of product test runs in the pilot plant, creation of performance testing plans for their project  (e. g. analyses and feeding tests)

• Responsible for creation of key product control documentation in coordination with Brand portfolio owner (e.g. product specifications, label information, etc. ensuring compliance with legal requirements)

• Provide support to Quality & Food Safety teams

• Act as a source of information on product attributes and recipes

• Provide high quality formal and informal communication on the progress of projects
