Summary

About the Position: You will serve as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for United States Army Garrison Bavaria (USAG Bavaria) S6 providing expert and authoritative IT Cybersecurity Program support. USAG Bavaria is the largest Army Garrison in Europe and includes the communities of Tower Barracks at Grafenwoehr, Rose Barracks at Vilseck, the Joint Multinational Readiness Center and Training Area at Hohenfels, and Sheridan Barracks and Artillery Kaserne at Garmisch.



Duties
  • Implements the Cybersecurity training and education program to ensure all users are familiar with Cybersecurity requirements in accordance with all applicable regulations and safeguards.
  • Applies Information Technology (IT) security principles, methods, and security products to design, protect and maintain the Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, and Accountability (CIA) of Information System resources.
  • Develops and conducts site-specific inspections and training in accordance with Cybersecurity policies.
  • Analyzes various aspects of assigned systems such as user requirements, hardware and network constraints, and impact on interrelated or inter-connected systems/networks.
  • Review and develop long-term plans for USAG Bavaria Information Technology Mission area.
  • Accomplish technical, analytical, and advisory functions pertinent to the development of local policies, plans, and processes supporting a robust Cybersecurity program.
  • Evaluate new or proposed systems and software to determine how it would support current and planned networking and communications systems and projects, in conjunction with known technological trends and development.
  • Provides advice, guidance, and recommendations of operational and technical requirements in accordance with Federal, Department of Defense, Army Regulations, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
